Steel enclosures designed around your equipment.
E-houses, switchgear rooms, BESS auxiliary enclosures, control rooms and shelters. Built for a fixed installation, not for crossing the ocean.
Stop paying for features you cut out.
A used ISO container is built to be stacked on a ship. To house electrical equipment it has to be cut for doors, louvers and ductwork, reinforced where it was cut, and adapted for loads it was never designed to carry.
A ModuStrong enclosure starts from the equipment list. The frame, base and openings are laid out around what goes inside and how it will be serviced.
Adapted container vs. ModuStrong enclosure
ISO container Adapted
- SizeFixed ISO dimensions, 8 ft wide.
- OpeningsCut after the fact, then reinforced.
- BaseFloor designed for cargo, not concentrated equipment loads.
- LiftingCorner castings designed for shipping handling.
- Service accessLimited to the original doors and new cutouts.
ModuStrong enclosure Purpose-built
- SizeConfigurable lengths and standard or extra-wide widths.
- OpeningsDoors, louvers, HVAC and cable entries planned from the start.
- BaseStructural base designed for your equipment weights.
- LiftingLifting points engineered for the installed weight.
- Service accessRemovable panels and wide openings to swap equipment.
Where ModuStrong enclosures fit.
One structural platform, configured for each type of equipment.
BESS auxiliary enclosures
Enclosures and auxiliary buildings for battery energy storage projects and microgrids.
E-houses & switchgear rooms
Electrical rooms for distribution, protection, inverters, switchgear and auxiliary transformers.
Control & SCADA rooms
Rooms for PLCs, instrumentation, SCADA and operator stations at plants and remote sites.
Telecom & edge shelters
Shelters for telecom equipment, edge computing and data center auxiliary systems.
Water & pumping
Pump houses, water treatment equipment rooms and chemical storage buildings.
Field equipment buildings
Equipment shelters, analyzer rooms and field offices for oil and gas sites.
Repeatable sizes, configurable inside.
A family of standard lengths reuses the same components and connections, so a new project starts from a proven frame instead of a blank page.
- Lengths of 20, 40 and 48 ft
- Standard and extra-wide widths
- Removable wall panels and wide equipment doors
- Lifting points and equipment bases built into the frame
- Openings for HVAC, louvers, ductwork and cable entries
Three ways to work together.
Your drawings
You have the enclosure design. ModuStrong fabricates it to your drawings, tolerances and inspection requirements.
Your equipment, our structure
You define the equipment and requirements. ModuStrong designs the frame, base, openings and access around them.
A repeatable model
For recurring projects, we develop a standard enclosure with configurable options that you can order again and again.
Certification and codes. For battery energy storage, standards such as UL 9540 and UL 9540A, and installation rules such as NFPA 855, apply to the complete system and its installation. ModuStrong engineers the enclosure together with the integrator to support the integrator's certification strategy and the applicable local codes. ModuStrong supplies the structure and envelope; electrical and battery integration stays with the integrator.
What comes with every enclosure
- Controlled drawings and bill of materials
- Material and weld traceability
- Dimensional inspection before shipping
- Shipping by truck from Northeast Mexico, about 120 miles from the Texas border
Industrial questions
Can ModuStrong build enclosures to our drawings?
Yes. ModuStrong can fabricate to your drawings and specifications, co-design the enclosure around your equipment, or develop a repeatable enclosure family with configurable options.
Does ModuStrong do the electrical integration?
No. ModuStrong supplies the steel structure and envelope, prepared for your equipment, HVAC, ventilation and cable entries. Electrical and battery integration stays with the integrator or EPC.
Are ModuStrong enclosures certified for BESS?
Certification such as UL 9540 and UL 9540A, and installation rules such as NFPA 855, apply to the complete energy storage system and its installation, not to an empty enclosure. ModuStrong engineers the enclosure with the integrator to support the integrator's certification strategy and local code requirements.
